Winter Olympics 2026: When snow turns to gold
From 6 to 22 February 2026, South Tyrol and northern Italy will be transformed into a winter wonderland full of emotions, medals and magical moments. The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in the region around Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo - and the mountain village of Dobbiaco, which will shine as the venue for the Olympic cross-country skiing competitions, will be part of it. Between shimmering snow fields, top sporting performance and quiet moments of wellness, this is the perfect combination of adventure and relaxation. And that's exactly why it's worth not just watching, but being right in the thick of it.

The programme: high tension on all slopes
The 2026 Olympic programme has everything to make the hearts of winter sports fans beat faster:
- Alpine skiing on the majestic slopes of Cortina d'Ampezzo
- Cross-country skiing in Dobbiaco, where snow-covered trails and clear mountain air make Olympic dreams come true

- Biathlon in the nearby Antholz Valley - a classic with goosebumps guaranteed
- Snowboarding & freestyle in Livigno, where adrenalin swirls through the air
- Figure skating & curling in the stylish metropolis of Milan
- And of course - ice hockey, with emotions, checks and final fever

What makes the 2026 Olympics so special
The 2026 Winter Games will set new standards, not only in terms of sport, but also culturally and ecologically. For the first time in history, Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, two very different places, are sharing the role of host: urban chic meets Alpine magic. Particularly noteworthy: 93% of the competition venues already exist. A clear commitment to sustainability and smart reuse. This will make the 2026 Olympics perhaps the greenest Winter Olympics of all time. And then there is the incomparable flair of the Dolomites: snow-covered peaks, crackling fireside evenings, cross-country ski tracks at dawn. A winter wonderland.
