When Schleswig-Holstein swings the cooking spoon, it gets really tasty: From August 2026 to March 2027 the Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival will bring international top chefs and north German hosts together at one table for the 40th time.
Also taking part are three of our Romantik® Häuser: the Romantik® Hotel Kieler Kaufmann in Kiel, the Romantik® Hotel Waldschlösschen in Schleswig and the Romantik® Hotel Friederikenhof in Lübeck. Look forward to exceptional menus, exciting aromas and high-calibre guest chefs who bring their very own signature to the plate. The Romantik® Opening at Kieler Kaufmann
On 30 August 2026, the 40th season of the Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival will get underway at the Romantik Hotel Kieler Kaufmann. To kick things off, no fewer than five top chefs will come together at Ahlmanns: head chef Lasse Knickrehm welcomes Nils Henkel, René Verse, Marvin Böhm and Bjarke Jeppesen for an extraordinary 5-course menu.
At Ahlmanns, Knickrehm stands for creative, seasonal cuisine with a regional focus – and since 2026, also for a Michelin star. Together with his guest chefs, he combines Nordic Cuisine, Haute Cuisine, Pure Nature and regional cuisine on the festival evening. The evening will be accompanied by Champagne, selected wines and non-alcoholic drinks.

Journey of indulgence between the seas at the Waldschlösschen
On 19 September 2026, the Romantik Hotel Waldschlösschen in Schleswig will be the first stop on a very special culinary journey. At the Genusstour „40 Jahre Genuss zwischen den Meeren“, guests can look forward to a menu served at several locations in Schleswig-Holstein.
The first course will be provided by Küchenchef Florian Holtmann at the Waldschlösschen, before the journey continues by bus to Friedrichstadt and St. Peter-Ording. In total, there will be four courses, special hosts and plenty of enjoyment.
It starts at 3 pm, and the price is €145 per person including bus transfer and menu.
Gourmet Evening at Friederikenhof Lübeck
On 23 and 24 January 2027 , the Romantik® Hotel Friederikenhof in Lübeck-Oberbüssau will once again be especially indulgent: guesting is Tony Hohlfeld, whose cuisine from the restaurant Jante in Hannover will provide an exceptional festival evening. Together with the team at Friederikenhof, a 5-course menu is created that combines Hohlfeld's modern style with the culinary tradition of the house. An evening for all those who feel like creative top-class cuisine and a special moment of enjoyment in the historic ambience of the Friederikenhof.
It starts at 6:30 pm each time, and the price is 215 euros per person.

The Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival (SHGF) is one of Germany's most traditional gourmet festivals. Since 1987, it has brought renowned top chefs from Germany and abroad together with selected host hotels in Schleswig-Holstein. Over several months, guests can enjoy exceptional menus and culinary evenings in selected hotels, including Romantik® Hotels. In the 2026/27 season, the festival celebrates its 40th edition.
The 40th season of the Schleswig-Holstein Gourmet Festival takes place from August 2026 to March 2027. During this period, the participating venues invite guests to various gourmet evenings and special culinary events.
Among the participating establishments are, among others, the Kieler Kaufmann in Kiel, the Waldschlösschen in Schleswig and the Friederikenhof in Lübeck from the Romantik® family, as well as numerous other hotels in the region. Each establishment brings its own culinary style and special atmosphere to the festival.
At the SHGF, the kitchens of the participating host venues meet renowned guest chefs from Germany and abroad. The respective chefs bring their own culinary styles and specialities and, together with the hosts, develop special festival menus.
