Zierikzee invites you to enjoy
In the historic old town of the coastal town of Zierikzee, this recently renovated hotel welcomes its guests with classic elegance and lived-in hospitality. The centuries-old building brings the spirit of times gone by to life with its rooms and suites and the atmospheric lounge in the Mondragon Tower. French cuisine with a Basque influence in the in-house restaurant Cristó translates the charm and ambition of the house in a culinary way.

Your hosts
As the first hotel in the historic old town of Zierikzee, the Mondragon is a personal, well-kept place where guests enjoy a pleasurable rest. The hosts welcome travellers in an upscale grand hotel where the breath of history can still be felt. The hotel is named after the 16th century Spanish general Cristóbal de Mondragón, who besieged Zierikzee in 1576 on behalf of the Spanish King Philip II and captured his city. Today, Govert Janzen is the host in the hotel, right on the old harbour of Zierikzee, which has always invited travellers and holidays to enjoy.

Sustainability Sustainability
Hotel Mondragon strives to minimize waste generation and limit the impact on air, water and soil through an effective environmental management system. For this purpose, the waste separation of glass, paper, cork, small chemical waste and films is carried out. In laundry management, we ask our guests to reuse towels. We clean with environmentally friendly detergents and microfiber cloths. To reduce energy consumption, we rely on a power supply based entirely on green electricity. Furthermore, we use a new heating boiler system with 4x84 kW in cascade connection, which is equipped with a separation of hot water and heating. Our air conditioning is automatically switched on. If we have no guests there is no use. The hotel suites and public areas are illuminated with energy saving and LED lamps.
