Zierikzee, the city of monuments, offers many other sights and activities besides museums and the harbor. A popular building and the city's landmark is the tower of the Sint-Lievens Minster (Sint-Lievensmonstertoren), a monumental church tower classified as a Rijksmonument. Popularly known as "the thick tower" (dikke Toren), the mighty structure dominates the silhouette of Zierikzee. The Nieuwe Kerk and the Lutherse Kerk also tell part of Zierikzee's history. The town's two old flour mills also rise beautifully from the ground: De Hoop Mill and Den Haas Mill can be visited all year round and convey Dutch flair.

The harbor hall majestically overlooks the inner harbor of Zierikzee. Stately, yet warm. The first thing you notice when you enter is the magnificent flooring. French fashion designer Christian Lacroix's "Papillon" design, custom-made for Mondragon, adds to the unique character of the space.  

With 80 m2, the Havenzaal can accommodate conferences up to 25 people, (business) meetings up to 50 people, dinners from 30 to 60 people and receptions up to 100 people. Everything is possible. Of course, we have the appropriate audiovisual equipment ready for you.

If you come for a festive dinner with family and friends or with your club, we will be happy to serve you the culinary delights of our chef, with matching wines and drinks. Stately candlesticks on the table, in which crystal glasses sparkle, add to the chic atmosphere. When it gets dark outside, mood lighting creates an intimate atmosphere.

The Havenzaal is also accessible by elevator, and the Heerenkamer across the street is a wonderful anteroom if you want to escape the hustle and bustle for a while. We will be happy to make you an attractive offer!

A visit to the Stadhuismuseums is a must. Here you can see and feel the rich tradition and history of the port city. In just over an hour, you will learn everything about the important position Zierikzee held in the Golden Age and the worldwide maritime importance of this city at that time during your tour through wonderful halls.

East of Zierikzee is the Watersnoodmuseum, where memories of the flood disaster of 1953 are brought to life in words and pictures. In four caissons you are taken on a journey into the history of that time. Furthermore, the museum also pays attention to the modern storm surge barrier "Deltawerke", which mainly protects Zeeland, but also the rest of the Netherlands, against flooding.

Stroll through the New Harbour in the evening and admire the elegant yachts moored side by side with sturdy fishing boats. The fishermen of Zierikzee go out before dawn to catch flatfish and shrimp on the North Sea and bring back the famous oysters from the Oosterschelde. It is said that early visitors are allowed to taste the catch at the sailor's house. Between the New Harbour and the Old Harbour lies the Zuidhavenpoort. A defence tower that used to protect the city, it is now home to a unique carillon whose sound pours over the city like a clear waterfall every hour on the hour during the day.

From Zierikzee it is not far to the rugged and enchanting North Sea coast. Fifteen minutes by car, half an hour by bike. Of course, you can also take public transport to the beach. The most beautiful beaches in the area include 

• Banjaardstrand (Kamperland) - one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands 
• 't Zwin (Cadzand-Bad) - for the search for shark teeth 
• Breezand (Vrouwenpolder) - the widest stand in Zeeland
• Domeinen 2 (Westenschouwen) - ideal for long hikes 
• De Hoge Hit (Zoutelande) - the sports beach
• Badestand (von Domburg) -  in Zeeland's oldest seaside resort 

Here you can swim, walk or enjoy one of the many water sports activities. During the day, the sun, sea and beach give you energy in all seasons, and towards evening you return to the comfort of the city. 

Watching seals is a unique experience! In the Oosterschelde National Park, this is very possible at low tide. Then they sunbathe on the sandbanks near the sea channels. Various excursion boats of different sizes offer seal-watching tours all year round.
