The 300-year-old inn with its half-timbered structure is considered a Franconian cultural asset. In the wood-paneled parlors or under the linden trees in the garden, contemporary table culture is combined with history and pleasure. The seasonal taste cuisine treats you with products from the region and was expanded in 2018 with the gourmet restaurant Waidwerk. Spend a few beautiful days to relax and enjoy - the modern four-star hotel with 37 rooms invites you to stay.
For the host family Rottner it is a heartfelt desire to offer you a harmonious and comfortable stay. Here the entire family lends a hand, after all, the inn is already owned by the fourth generation of the family. And while host Claudia Rottner takes care of the wine list as a sommelière, husband Stefan has been in the kitchen of the inn since 1985 and serves regional seasonal cuisine. Son Valentin treats his guests as head chef in the gourmet restaurant "Waidwerk" and Lisa Rottner-Jahn is responsible for hotel operations as well as events.

In summer the wonderful restaurant garden under old lime trees is inviting. A more rustic alternative is the walnut tree garden in front of the inn.
Studded windows, elaborately decorated ceiling beams, half-timbering, wrought iron, tiled stove, bare wooden tables, warm fabrics and lovingly selected pictures - the ambience at Gasthaus Rottner is incredibly cozy and tradition-conscious. And our cuisine also offers you a glimpse of Franconian tradition. Seasonal products from the region and our garden form the basic framework of the menu. Our dishes are created in the interplay of Franconian tradition and modern trends in the art of cooking. The well-tried is interpreted in a new way.
The seasonal produce from the woods and meadows inspires us to new possibilities and compositions for every season. As an ambitious hunter, chef Valentin Rottner attaches particular importance to tradition and sustainability. However, he is also open to international products. Fresh, regional products and exciting from around the world form the basis to the straightforward, puristic and flavorful kitchen style. In 2019, Valentin Rottner was awarded a Michelin star for this, which he has defended ever since. In 2021 he received 17 pts in the Gault Millau.
From the middle of May to the beginning of September you can enjoy regional dishes similar to a Franconian beer garden in the summer in our walnut tree garden. You will sit at stone tables or on our clinker area in the shade of our old walnut trees. Children enjoy our small but nice playground, always in view of their parents. Casual, relaxed and delicious.
In summer, we also serve the dishes from our a la carte restaurant in our Lindengarten. Here you can sit in the shade under 2 wonderfully large lime trees.
Sustainability Sustainable & Regional
For star chef and host Valentin Rottner, tradition and sustainability have a special meaning. The compositions in the gourmet restaurant Waidwerk are based on fresh and regional ingredients. After Valentin Rottner went hunting with his grandfather as a child, he took his own hunting licence at the age of 15. So you can be sure that the meat comes from the region and that the animals have lived in a species-appropriate way. In addition, the control of wildlife populations through hunting enables the tree populations in the local forests to recover.

A difficult story, yet one that must be told. From 1933 to 1938, the National Socialists held their Reich Party Rallies in Nuremberg. Even today, gigantic building remains bear witness to the staging of these propaganda shows. The exhibition at the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds conveys a comprehensive picture of National Socialist tyranny as well as the history of the Nazi Party Rallies. The study forum offers numerous educational opportunities. On the 4 square kilometer large Reichsparteitagsgelände, boards inform about the history of the site.
