The Stafler family in Mauls near Sterzing has been looking after the well-being of its guests for 200 years. The thick walls, cosy rooms and playful oriel windows of their South Tyrolean family business reflect the charm of times gone by, as the first travellers stopped here as early as 1270. Situated on the old Brenner Road and framed by the magnificent mountain scenery and the South Tyrolean natural landscape, today's Romantik Hotel Stafler exudes the aura of many centuries. The poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe was convinced of this when he stopped at the inn of the former estate on his Italian journey.
Chef Peter Girtler and his team at the Gourmetstube Einhorn take care of the culinary delights within the historic walls. He has already been ennobled by the restaurant guide Gault&Millau as the "most capable advocate of holistic cuisine", and has also been awarded 17 points, or three toques. The Michelin confirmed this view with two shining stars. Whether fresh mountain herbs in South Tyrolean products or traditional farmer's recipes paired with Italian art of living - the chef convinces friends of down-to-earth dishes as well as pampered gourmets with his culinary pleasure tradition. The festive atmosphere is rounded off by fine china, exclusive table linen and the warm hospitality of the Stafler family.
In the "Romantica" wellness oasis, which was awarded "Hotel of the Year 2017" by Gault&Millau, guests can expect pure relaxation the South Tyrolean way: for beauty treatments with selected products, massages, baths and cosmetics, the Romantik Hotel Stafler relies on purely natural ingredients from the local Alps. Guests are looked after by the hotel's qualified cosmetician and masseuse. Let yourself be pampered in the steam bath and the Finnish sauna. You can also warm your soul by using the heated relaxation bench, infrared cabin or solarium. The cold grotto, ice fountain and numerous showers ensure a healthy temperature.
