On the banks of the Müritz, between two nature reserves, you will see one of the most beautiful and oldest manor houses in Mecklenburg. As a guest, you will feel transported back to past centuries, when man, in harmony with nature, was the measure of all things. The excellent manor house kitchen uses almost exclusively regional products. The Müritz shore with its bathing beach and boat landing stage is only 800 metres through the estate park.

Hosts - Romantik Hotel Gutshaus Ludorf

Your hosts

In no other manor village has the evidence of Mecklenburg's 1000-year history remained so wonderfully tangible. Once built in the style of the "Danish Clinker Renaissance" in 1698, it is thanks to the pioneering spirit of the host family that the estate is in full bloom today. Keril and Manfred Achtenhagen run the house in a family atmosphere and with personal hospitality. Their two sons, Jannis and Malte, are also firmly anchored in the activities of the Gutshaus and have been taking care of the management of the hotel, reception as well as the organisation of individual events and the restaurant including the kitchen since 2020. Experience the family charm in the stately manor house!

Our recommendations

Double room "Landhaus" Romantik Hotel Gutshaus Ludorf
Double room "Landhaus"

The Zinnenhaus was the farmhouse of the estate until 1945. Built in the middle of the 19th century, it stands on the cellar of a much older predecessor building. Today it houses the simple country house rooms on the ground floor.

Double room "Romantik" Romantik Hotel Gutshaus Ludorf
Double room "Romantik"

For a time in the 17th century, the upper floor was built higher than the ground floor. It was therefore often called the belle étage. The rooms in this category here are quite high and simply stately. A few romantic rooms have also recently been added in the neighbouring Zinnenhaus.

Suite "Gutshaus" Romantik Hotel Gutshaus Ludorf
Suite "Gutshaus"

The honeymoon suite is a truly country-aristocratic chamber. With the magnificent old wooden floorboards, the massive oak lintels above the large windows, the four-poster bed and, of course, the free-standing bathtub, you really feel like the lord of the manor here. The Rose Suite consists of two large rooms on the high ground floor that can also be completely separated from each other. Valuable parquet flooring from the 19th century and two bathrooms offer sufficient comfort even for a longer stay. We try to fulfil room requests according to availability.

Simply homely!

Morizan
Morizan

The typical traditional cuisine of Mecklenburg is given a new lease of life here. As a Slow Food supporter, regional and seasonal products are used as much as possible in our restaurant. In the tradition of the self-sufficiency of the large East Elbe estates, the cuisine of the Morizaner is also largely self-sufficient. The fishermen supply the Müritz pike perch and vendace, and the Thönes Naturfleisch butchery in the neighbouring village ensures short distances and precise knowledge of the quality of the meat.

A heart for nature

estate ludorf producers
Know what you eat

In the past, the manor houses were almost entirely self-sufficient. Today, we maintain direct contact with committed producers of regional food.

A glass butcher's shop in the neighbouring village where meat and sausage from animals from the region are processed, freshly caught fish from the Müritz fishermen, vegetables from regional cultivation - direct contact with selected producers is an important part of the kitchen concept.
