A visit to the city's landmark is a must. From the south tower of St. Stephen's Cathedral you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of the city. Also not to be missed is a visit to Schönbrunn Palace, the birthplace of Emperor Franz Joseph. A total of 45 of the 1141 rooms - including living quarters, workrooms - can be visited. When the weather is nice, it is worth visiting the huge palace park as well as the Schönbrunn Zoo which is located in the middle of the palace park. If you are more interested in the royal family, the Sisi Museum is recommended.

Our neighboring building is the house that Emanuel Schikaneder, versatile genius, actor, organizational talent and, above all, librettist of The Magic Flute, had built in Vienna in 1801 in the spirit of Mozart. As a year-round opera house, the Theater an der Wien opens up a new, independent category in Vienna's cultural scene. Twelve months a year - with a premiere every month - opera is performed in the stagione system, i.e. with a constant cast from the first to the last performance and thus continuous quality at the highest international level. The Theater an der Wien establishes a reciprocal relationship with its lively surroundings at the Naschmarkt and with the young cultural scene around the "Schleifmühl quarter" in the nearby 4th district.

The ALBERTINA MODERN is Austria's new art museum for world-class modern and contemporary art. Its focus is equally on international art creation as it is on the diverse art of the present in Austria after 1945.

Set foot outside the door and after a few more steps you will find yourself in the middle of the colorful market hustle and bustle at the Naschmarkt between delicatessen, "Standlern" and lifestyle bars. The opera, Musikverein, Museumsquartier, concert hall and coffee house are just a few minutes' walk away, as are the two most important shopping streets.

Once a week the Romantik Townhouse Beethoven invites you to free salon concerts. On a weekend day, our salon hosts a chamber music concert for violoncello and piano. The intermission is celebrated with a glass of sparkling wine.
