In the Cassiopeia Therme, which is only a 3-minute walk away, you can experience wellness on around 3,800 m². In the healing springs, the Romans already found relaxation and recovery 2000 years ago. Visit the nearby Cassiopeia Therme, where you can float in the healing and warm thermal water.

We are also happy to organize classic massages, heat therapies, lymphatic drainage, spinal treatments according to Dorn-Breuss or foot reflexology massages in the relaxation area of the hotel.  

Badenweiler is located in the largest hiking area in Germany. With almost 24,000 kilometers of signposted hiking trails, there is something for everyone. Discover the border triangle by bike or mountain bike and cycle past rolling hills, lush meadows and valleys. We will also take care of your physical well-being on the way and will gladly prepare a packed lunch for you! 

The above-average sunshine duration of 1,700 hours per year, the Black Forest and our altitude of 425 m provide us with a mild healing climate and excellent wine-growing region with a Mediterranean flair. You can go from being a wine connoisseur to a regional wine connoisseur during a wine tasting in Badenweiler's traditional vineyard, the former Rebwächterhäuschen. From May to October, every Friday from 4 p.m., winegrowers from the region present the finest drops at a wine tasting.

The Romantik Hotel zur Sonne is the perfect starting point for your excursions to Badenweiler, the Markgräflerland and the border triangle: only 20 km away is the bird park near Steinen. Here you can experience the fascination of birds of prey during impressive shows. To the Mundenhof in Freiburg you drive just 30 km - and you reach a destination that is made for the whole family: the largest animal enclosure in Baden-Württemberg. Europa-Park in Rust (55 km) is probably the most famous family and amusement park in Germany and is one of the most successful of its kind in Europe. The Hasenhorn toboggan run in Todtnau (40 km) is considered the most spectacular toboggan run in Germany. A modern double chairlift takes you comfortably to the starting point and then it's "Fasten your seatbelts please!"
