Aussichtspunkt Cloef

A panorama that gives you goose bumps.

From the Cloef viewpoint near Mettlach, a view opens up that seems almost too beautiful to be true: the river flows in a wide, elegant loop through lush green forests, mist hovers over the water in the morning, and in the evening the setting sun bathes the valley in warm gold. This moment lingers. Standing here, you can feel the breath of nature – a 360-degree panorama that brings peace and invigorates the senses.

OUR INSIDER TIP:

If you want to experience the Saar Loop in all its magical glory, come early in the morning between 5.30 and 7.00 a.m., when a light mist still hangs over the water and the forests are bathed in soft light. Right next to the Cloef viewpoint, the Saar Loop treetop path leads high up through the treetops – from there, a breathtaking panorama opens up before you. It's a moment to savour, best enjoyed with a deep breath, without your smartphone and with your eyes wide open.

The Saarschleife treetop walk. Experience nature differently.

Right next to the viewpoint, the Saarschleife treetop walk takes visitors high up into the trees. The wooden walkway winds its way through the treetops for 1.25 kilometres until it reaches the 42-metre-high observation tower. From here, the loop looks even more spectacular, almost as if you were floating above the Saar.
