Hiking, cycling, golfing

Lower Bavaria is located in the south-east of Germany: the region borders the Czech Republic, the Upper Palatinate in the north and Austria in the south. Lower Bavaria includes part of the Bavarian Forest, a good stretch of the upper reaches of the Danube and the Bavarian Golf and Spa Land. The most important cities are Landshut, Straubing and Passau. So you can spend your holiday in Lower Bavaria in the middle of a varied landscape between low mountain ranges, forests, river meadows, spas and towns steeped in history. The choice is yours: if you prefer active recreation in the fresh air, you are in exactly the right place anyway. Not far from your hotel in Lower Bavaria stretches the largest forest landscape in Central Europe - the Bavarian Forest, partly protected as a national park, is a hiker's paradise with its approximately 130 peaks over 1000 metres. One of the most popular trails is the Goldsteig quality hiking trail, which leads over the heights of the mountains to the three-river city of Passau. Cyclists are in good hands on the Danube Cycle Path, which runs in Lower Bavaria from Regensburg over hundreds of kilometres of river to the Austrian border. Golfers, on the other hand, can look forward to more than 20 courses in the region. And if you simply want to dive in, relax in one of the numerous thermal baths, for example in the Europa Therme in Bad Füssing or in the Wohlfühl-Therme in Bad Griesbach.

Your holiday residence: a hotel in Lower Bavaria

Don't miss out on a visit to the charming towns of Lower Bavaria. Baroque Passau at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers is the first address for a city stroll. Stroll through the alleys of the old town, visit St. Stephan's Cathedral or the Veste Oberhaus, from where you have a breathtaking view of the city. Get to know the residential town of Landshut - with the Renaissance palace of the city residence, Haferlmarkt, old town, beer gardens and cafés. Book your hotel in Lower Bavaria.
