Idyllisch am Donaudurchbruch im Naturschutzgebiet Weltenburger Enge gelegen, befindet sich das Kloster Weltenburg mit der ältesten Klosterbrauerei der Welt. Das Kloster wurde um 620 von zwei iroschottischen-kolumbanischen Mönchen nach den Regeln des heiligen Kolumban gegründet. Die Ordensregeln des heiligen Benedikt wurden im achten Jahrhundert von den in Weltenburg lebenden Mönchen übernommen.

Die von den Gebrüdern Asam in den Jahren 1716 bis 1739 erbaute Abteikirche gilt als ein Meisterwerk des Barocks. Es gibt viel zu entdecken, wie beispielsweise das Besucherzentrum, dass Sie über die Geschichte des Klosters, die älteste Klosterbrauerei und über das Naturschutzgebiet Weltenburger Enge informiert. Empfehlenswert ist auch eine Führung in der Brauerei, die von April bis Oktober an den Wochenenden angeboten wird. Und als krönenden Abschluss können Sie im Biergarten der Klosterschenke Weltenburg, der zu den schönsten Biergärten Bayerns zählt, neben regionalen Schmankerln, ein preisgekröntes "Barock dunkel" genießen.

That's why we are even more pleased to be the first official TESTRIDE hotel of these cool bikes and e-bikes.

In the mood to discover the Upper Palatinate on two wheels? We are happy to lend out our latest NICOLAI bikes or you can bring your own bike, which you can of course store safely in our bike garage. We are also happy to provide bike maps and rental backpacks free of charge. Our delicious snack packages, freshly prepared by our kitchen team for only €12.50, provide the right refreshment on the way. With the exclusive NICOLAI bikes, 100% made in Germany, your bike tour will also be a real experience!

Seven golf courses and all close to the hotel: that's what we call a golfer's paradise. Regardless of whether you are a wild card or a course beginner, everyone will find the right golf offer around our hotel in the Upper Palatinate - including a green fee reduction for our hotel guests.

At the idyllically located St. Agatha bathing lake in the Haidhof district, cooling off and bathing fun is guaranteed on hot summer days.  Right next to the lake you will also find the "AltmühlBob", one of the most modern summer toboggan runs in the world, which guarantees unforgettable tobogganing fun at sometimes lofty heights on a track length of over 1000 m with a novel system.

The Parsberg Castle
The Parsberg Castle Museum presents the life of people from the Neumarkt-Parsberg-Regensburg region through the centuries in three main areas on approx. 1200 square metres of museum space.

The King Otto Dripstone Cave
This is considered one of the most beautiful dripstone caves in Germany. It has a total length of 450 metres, 270 metres of which can be explored in a 30-40 minute guided tour. The cave was discovered by the shepherd Peter Federl on 30 September 1895, on the name day of the Bavarian King Otto.

Kallmünz, a place of artists
In 1901, the painter and professor Charles Johann Palmié, who had travelled from Munich, chose a newly opened inn in Kallmünz as his summer residence.

Roped up according to the highest safety standards and guided by experienced trainers, the aim is to overcome various obstacles and master exercises at heights of up to twelve metres. The level of difficulty depends on the requirements and age - for children from the age of three, the Velburg adventure world is designed to be suitable for children.

In the months of June and July (each weekend) the Parsberg Burgspiele take place every year. The Burgspiele are a fascinating experience under the wonderful backdrop of Parsberg Castle. In the restaurant Wirtsstuben we serve you in advance a menu in 3 acts. (The performed theater play & the performance dates will always be announced in due time).

A trip to Parsberg is also worthwhile during Advent. The Parsberg Castle Christmas takes place every year on the first weekend of Advent. Under the onion domes of the castle and against the backdrop of the illuminated Parsberg parish church, brass music is played, and there are many Christmas treats, handicraft gifts and hearty snacks. The Advent concert on Sunday in the parish church is also part of the supporting programme. The Parsberg Castle Christmas has become one of the most beautiful markets in the Upper Palatinate. The Parsberg castle area can be reached comfortably from the hotel in 5 minutes on foot.
