At the beginning of June, Meißen invites to Germany's largest open-air reading festival.
- New Meißen Castle Festival in mid-June
The Meißen Castle Festival took place for the first time in 1925. After a long pause, the festival was resurrected on the occasion of the 90th anniversary in 2015. Since then, music, drama, dance and the unique atmosphere in the courtyard of the Albrechtsburg inspire visitors every year in June.

Every year during the last weekend in September, Meissen celebrates over 850 years of Saxon wine tradition. The winegrowers of the Elbe region present their wines on the market place accompanied by music and entertainment program.
