The hotel plants a tree in the local forests every time it dispenses with intermediate cleaning. The hotel sources its food, including fresh meat and vegetables, home-grown herbs and home-distilled spirits, from regional producers and generates its own energy. E-charging stations and modern LED technology are also available throughout the hotel. The hotel has been officially awarded the Viabono certificate for particularly environmentally friendly management.

Charity Projects

Der Romantische Winkel actively supports various charity projects that help socially or economically disadvantaged people, war zones or children in need. These include the Haus der Hoffnung, a social diaconal work in Göttingen, which specializes in care, charity and comfort for people in precarious situations and emergencies. The Romantik Hotel is also committed to the Hope for One organization and a charity project in Africa run by the hotel's own coffee roaster COFYMI.

Boathouse at the Lake

Short break at the lake: enjoy the atmosphere at the Schmelzteich a relaxed tour with pedal boats and paddle boats, delicious ice cream and cool drinks. Younger guests at the Romantik Hotel can look forward to a voucher for a trip on the yellow pedal boat called Schnatterinchen. As an extraordinary event location, the boathouse is also available for your birthday reception, a company event with a small buffet or an action-packed melting pond regatta. The boathouse is open in May, June and September from Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 17:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00, weather permitting. In July we are open daily from 11:00 to 18:00, in August on Mondays from 11:00 to 18:00 and from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:30 to 18:30 (in May and June also open in fine weather Monday to Friday until 18:00, public holidays during the week from 11:00 to 17:00). Brockenbahn

A trip on the Brockenbahn is not just a train ride, but a little adventure through the magical world of the Harz Mountains. The Harz narrow-gauge railroad starts its journey from Drei Annen Hohne to the summit of the Brocken, the highest mountain in the Harz. You look out over a picture-book landscape of dense forests, picturesque valleys and fascinating views. Once you reach the top, a magnificent panoramic view awaits you. Yes, the hotel offers a free shuttle to the train station. Please let the team know your arrival time at Bad Sachsa station so that you can be picked up on time.

On request, you may bring your dog up to a maximum shoulder height of approx. 55 cm into the hotel. A limited number of dogs are welcome at the hotel. There is a charge of € 30.00 per night for your four-legged friend. The RoWi team will also provide you with a blanket, a dog bowl and a welcome treat. Please keep your dog on a lead at all times throughout the hotel. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in the wellness area, the outdoor pool or the restaurant. In addition, dogs are not allowed in the Tuscany Room, Panorama Junior Suite Deluxe, Penthouse Loft room categories and in all feel-good flights. In the event of excessive soiling or damage, the hotel will charge a fee of €120.00. Thank you for your understanding.

Free use of the wellness area is only possible during the time the room is available. If you would like to use the facilities beyond this time, a contribution towards expenses including snacks of €19.00 on weekdays and €29.00 at weekends and on public holidays will be charged.

Yes, the hotel has its own free outdoor tennis courts, which are just a 2-minute walk from the hotel. Please reserve the court at reception. Rackets for beach tennis are provided free of charge. On request, you can also use an indoor tennis court for a fee.

You can reach the hotel via the A5 and A7 as well as the B3 and B243. To ensure a quick and precise journey by car, please use a navigation system. You will find parking spaces directly in front of the hotel. The team will unload your luggage and park your car there. We also provide three charging stations directly on site for a fee.

The best way to reach the hotel by train is via Göttingen, Northeim or Halle station and from Nordhausen to Bad Sachsa. Please let us know your arrival time so that a member of the hotel staff can pick you up from the station.
