L'Esplanade

Room LEsplanade

From the terrace of the Esplanade in the medieval town of Domme, you overlook the Dordogne valley and the river's bewildering labyrinth. In the face of 450,000 years of human history, one becomes humble. Fifteen stylish and comfortable rooms have been designed here: ornate but not ostentatious. Pascal Bouland offers traditional regional cuisine, where every dish is a tribute to this landscape of the first humans. Something essential surrounds this area. Henri Miller, lover of this region, had written: "It may be that France will one day cease to exist, but the Dordogne will survive, like the dreams on which the human soul feeds."
