Das Romantik Hotel Turm in Völs am Schlern

Italy: Italian apple strudel

When you think about Italian pastries, apple strudel probably won’t be the first thing that comes to your mind. Bit Italy is also South Tyrol with its amazing mountains and an alpine-Mediterranean cuisine that embraces both classic Italian dishes and South Tyrolean specialities.

The popular strudel even has its own celebration with the “Strudelfest”, a strudel festival in Seis am Schlern, this year held on 9 September. Only 10 minues by car from Romantik Hotel Turm in Völs am Schlern, locals, guests and tourists celebrate the variety of strudel with an offer of different doughs and fillings. In addition, the history and customs of Seis and its neighbouring villages are presented, for example by showing regional handicraft. A farmers market and traditional music make this festival a wonderful regional experience.

When you now got an appetite for strudel, why don’t you try the following apple strudel recipe at home, recommended and written down by the kitchen team at Romantik Hotel Turm in Völs. Enjoy the taste of South Tyrol!
