Prominent new member: Schloss Pichlarn becomes a Romantik Hotel

Schloss Pichlarn in Styria (Austria), a castle hotel that has undergone extensive renovation work over recent months, is joining the Romantik Hotels & Restaurants cooperative with immediate effect. Situated right by an exclusive golf course in the Alps, Schloss Pichlarn is the second Austrian hotel to join the Romantik cooperative this year (following Romantik Hotel Bergergut). “We are delighted to be able to welcome Schloss Pichlarn, one of the best hotels in Austria, to Romantik and to start marketing it worldwide,” says Thomas Edelkamp, chairman of the network’s board of directors. “This unique hotel is the perfect addition to our cooperative.” Hotel Director Engelbert Lainer-Wartenberg adds: “When we were looking for a strong brand that would position Schloss Pichlarn successfully and bring us new guests, Romantik was the only choice.”

The luxury hotel, set against the magnificent Alpine backdrop of the Ennstal valley in Styria, enjoys a rich tradition and can look back on almost 1000 years of history. With its elegant rooms and suites, Schloss Pichlarn is regarded today as one of the top hotels for gourmets and golfers and for visitors looking for sport or rest and relaxation.

The castle has undergone extensive renovation work over the past few months and its many spa, health and sports facilities make it the perfect destination for particularly discerning travellers at any time of the year. An extraordinary spa area spread over more than 4,500 square metres, including an indoor and outdoor pool, the unique location right next to a superior 18-hole golf course, private tennis courts and the many local activities on offer make this a unique sports and relaxation hotel in the heart of Austria. Romantik Hotel Schloss Pichlarn is also the perfect setting for conferences and banquets. Six function rooms equipped with the latest technology and capable of holding up to 200 people provide an exceptional venue for meetings, weddings and office parties. The Styrian-inspired cuisine in the Schloss Restaurant and Zirbenstube promise a genuine explosion of flavours. Regional ingredients, seasonal produce and exceptional culinary skills result in excellent quality that has been awarded 15 points and two toques from Gault Millau.

“With its outstanding cuisine, unique spa and sports facilities, luxurious furnishings and fantastic location, Romantik Hotel Schloss Pichlarn promises to be one of the top hotels on our guests’ itineraries,” says Thomas Edelkamp.
