International congress in Berlin: Romantik honours the best trainees

(7th March 2018) Romantik Hotels & Restaurants have honoured the best trainees in Germany. The junior employees were honoured at the international congress this week in Berlin in the presence of DEHOGA-chief manager Ingrid Hartges. „We are delighted that the trainees belong again to the best in all of Germany. We are proud of your achievement and we are looking forward to a joint future“, said Thomas Edelkamp, CEO of the cooperation, in front of more than 200 hosts from nine european countries. Ingrid Hartges congratulated the trainees: „At Romantik you have formed a basis for your career in our branch. I would like to express my highest respect to you for your excellent test results. I congratulate you and your training companies. You can be proud of your achievements. Have a good start in the most beautiful branch, you have already acquired the necessary skills! Good luck!“

With the award the brand wants to encourage young talents to continue their career in the hotel business. Therefore, the overall winner Sarah Buve recieved a voucher for a correspondence course for hospitality management at Deutsche Hotelakademie (DHA). The prize was awarded by Romantik Hotel Goldene Traube in Coburg and is sponsored by Yourcareergroup, at a value of 3.000 Euro. Also, the trainees were happy about the certificates and prizes.

„Employee training is a huge priority at Romantik. For generations the houses have been standing for an excellent quality of apprenticeships in the german hospitality industry and guarantee the best conditions for young people“, Edelkamp explains, who also started his career in one of the Romantik-houses. Moreover, the brand Romantik provides further advantages that trainees would otherwise enjoy only in international companies, Edelkamp says. Trainees participate at Europe-wide exchange programs, attend various training formats and benefit from cheap trips and purchases.
