German and Swiss new members add to the portfolio
The Romantik Hotels & Restaurants are delighted about new exciting destinations: From Stralsund, and Timmendorfer Strand, to the Taunus region close to Frankfurt to Zurich and the Lake Lucerne. Since the beginning of October 2014 five hotels and restaurants in Germany and Switzerland add to the portfolio of the hotel cooperation. The new guide with all the information – also on the new hotels – is published in December 2014.
Five new privately managed hotels and restaurants have just joined the Romantik hotel cooperation: three hotels and restaurants in Germany as well as two hotels in Switzerland.
In the footsteps of the Hanse merchants amongst brick buildings and across cobbled streets – in Stralsund you may dig deep into the history of the Baltic Sea region. The ideal starting point: the Romantik Hotel Scheelehof with its own coffee-roasting establishment and hotel-own sailing yacht. In the middle of the UNESCO protected old town the two oldest buildings date back to the 14th century.
Timmendorfer Strand offers Baltic Sea holidays par excellence. With the longest beach in Schleswig-Holstein and a long tradition as seaside resort all prerequisites for relaxing days are fulfilled. In the oldest house of Timmendorf, today’s Romantik Restaurant Reethus, you will get pampered the culinary way. Steaks are a speciality, but on the menu there is also fish and other products of the region.
The Romantik Hotel Schloss Rettershof from the 19th century is located picturesquely amongst the sloping hills of the Vordertaunus region and close to Frankfurt, the airport and Wiesbaden. The small castle delights with a historical ambiance and offers the perfect setting for elegant weddings and events, romantic weekends as well as meetings and seminars in an inspiring surrounding. At the restaurant “RETTER’s” or on the sunny terrace head chef Dominik Mühl spoils guests with seasonal specialities.
Weggis on the shore of Lake Lucerne was named “the most beautiful place on earth” by author Mark Twain and is known as the “Riviera of central Switzerland”. Here, with the mountains at the back and unobstructed view of the lake, the team of the Romantik Hotel Beau Rivage welcomes its guests. It continues the story of the famous hotel “Lion d’or”, where in former times kings and statesmen came and went.
It is thanks to its situation directly on the backside of the Zurich opera that the Romantik Hotel Europe was home to the famous dancer Rudolf Nurejew during his engagement in town. But the location, only a few steps from the shore of Lake Zurich, is also an advantage for all other guests. These are exactly the ingredients for the charm of this Swiss metropolis: a great natural surrounding and a lively scene with culture, shopping and indulgence.
