The Achensee

The mountain lake Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol and has excellent water quality. Embedded in the Karwendel nature reserve, the shores of the lake are accessible to everyone. Thanks to the unique mountain location, the water stays cool even in summer and reaches temperatures of up to 20°C. Swimmers can choose between five beaches and beach baths around the lake. In addition to bathing tourists, the lake is also very popular with anglers and divers.

Lake Altaussee

The Altausseer lake is particularly known for its crystal clear water with its intense dark blue colour and is also called the "dark blue inkwell" because of its special colour. It lies in the middle of the Styrian Salzkammergut and convinces by its naturalness. This is preserved thanks to the fact that it belongs to the nature reserve, which is why the shores of the lake are almost unspoilt. From spring to autumn the lake invites you to swim and linger.

Lake Attersee

The Attersee is the largest lake in Austria, which is also completely in the country. Lake Mondsee

Mondsee is also located in the Salzkammergut in the immediate vicinity of the Attersee lake. The water of the Mondsee has drinking water quality and convinces therefore by its special purity and cleanliness. On the shore of the 14 km2 large lake, numerous sandy and meadow beaches make a pleasant stay possible. Loibichl, Plomberg and Black India are among the most beautiful bathing places on the lake. A special highlight: The village of See am Mondsee is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and enchants nature lovers with its beautiful mountain scenery.

Lake Wolfgangsee

With 13 km2 the lake Wolfgangsee is one of the most famous lakes in the Salzkammergut region. The lake shore invites tourists to stay and also offers numerous water sports activities. Above all water skiing, water tyres or parasailing ensure variety in your bathing holiday. In addition, the lake can be explored wonderfully with pedal boats and electric boats.

Lake Weißensee

Lake Weißensee is the highest bathing lake in Carinthia and is located at 930 metres above sea level. The water temperature of the lake does not rise above 18°C even in summer and allows for a successful cooling down after a strenuous hike. Lake Turrach is covered with a thick layer of ice for about half of the year. Not far from the lake are the Turracher Grünsee and the Turracher Schwarzsee, which also invite you to take a refreshing swim.
