Culinary at the Romantik Hotel Zum Stern

Stern*s Restaurant

Stern*s Restaurant has always been regarded by many as the "Hersfelders' living room". Is there any clearer way of expressing how well looked after and relaxed our guests feel? Wooden tables, rustic benches, a wood burning stove and lovingly made seasonal decorations make our restaurant a truly welcoming place.

And when the weather permits, the Stern opens its doors and spills out onto the idyllic Linggplatz. And anyone sitting in these cosy surroundings can also expect good food. Stern*s Restaurant serves excellent cuisine with strong regional influences.

Lovers of international delicacies will find plenty to tempt them on the menu too. In 2014, our Stern*s Restaurant was once again awarded the BIB Gourmand from Michelin, which denotes that it serves carefully prepared meals at good prices.

L'Étable

In mid-2006, the world of gastronomy saw a new rising star: the gourmet restaurant L'Étable. The name L'Étable, French for "The Stable", refers to the history of our hotel. The room that houses the restaurant with its modern French country-house style was once the place where the stagecoach horses, tradesmen and other travellers rested their weary heads.

At nine tables in an exclusive ambience, Michelin-starred head chef Patrick Spies and his committed team indulge our guests. A native of East Hesse, his aim is to amaze ever diner with his cuisine and make his mark on his home region.

He is passionate about using the finest natural produce and reinterpreting the basic techniques of classical cookery in a modern and innovative way. In 2012, the restaurant was once again awarded 17 out of 20 points by Gault Millau and the Guide Michelin again gave it another one of its coveted stars. In the current edition of Gusto Deutschland 2013, Patrick Spies was awarded 8 out of 10 Gusto pans and is delighted about these awards.

L'Étable opens at 6:00 pm from Thursday to Saturday and at 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm on Sunday. It is closed on Monday through Wednesday. During festival time – mid-June to August – the restaurant is also open on Tuesday evenings. We open on request for groups.
