In the CULINARIAT by BERGERGUT the creative and passionate 2-toques-chef Thomas Hofer prepares culinary delicacies, which are served in the atmospheric restaurant with living room flair surrounded by fine fabrics and lovely details. Now, a touch of Thomas Hofer’s haute cuisine can be also found in the private kitchens of gourmets. The Genuss Greisslerei in the BERGERGUT is opened.

House- and handmade delicacies from the CULINARIAT by BERGERGUT, Mühlviertler beers, oils and seeds from the region, the best vinegars and more specialties, which are used by Thomas Hofer in his kichen, arise now in the Genuss Greisslerei. As in the “good old times“ at “Kramer ums Eck“, the clocks move a bit slower in the Greisslerei. In complete tranquility, in a unique atmosphere to fall in love with, lovers of culinary delights can browse through the shelves. Tastefully packed culinary delights are waiting to be discovered. The Genuss Greisslerei is moreover a place for unforgettable evenings in the family and friends circle: completely exclusive, for four to twelve people, Thomas Hofer serves culinary delights.

Pleasure in the Romantik Hotel Bergergut is all about the Mühlviertel district. Pure culture. A smart-effervescent cuveé of art, pleasure and traditional values. Like genuine, pure flavours which melt in your mouth. And the very special ruggedness, which defines the basin-shaped landscape and the people here on the Bohemian border.
Indeed, it is enjoyment that provides a slow, targeted trajectory to the soft core of gourmet experiences.
The dishes and the climate are alike. Spicy, intense, with a hint of northern exoticism and a great deal of purity. Yet not everything that is new tastes interesting too. We are almost at the start again of our journey, into the land of lost taste temptations. Before a new, exciting awakening; heading back to our roots. We are gathering herbs, working closely with farmers in the region and with local suppliers – and browsing through old cookery books, peeking over grandma’s shoulder, but heading away on excursions too. To Thailand. And to South America and back. Yet mostly in the garden here and in the surrounding Mühlviertel district ...
