At a glance the Burg Schwarzenstein
The Rheingau, one of the most important wine-growing regions in Germany, adjoins rolling hills, picturesque villages and renowned wine-growing estates. Here, at the highest point of Johannisberg, the Burg Schwarzenstein is surrounded by a Mediterranean–styled park.
Built in 1873 by the architect F. Schädel, it was restored in 2004. The lords of the castle woke the fairytale residence from its deep slumber and turned it into a haven of hospitality.
The food of our GRILL & WINE BAR is spirited, fresh and versatile. Nils Henkel and his team value high quality produces - if possible locally supplied.
