FRANKFURT - Romantik Hotels & Restaurants continues to grow. Following the strong expansion in the neighbouring European countries in the past year, in 2008 the alliance has been gaining members above all in Germany. With the start of the new financial year on October 1, the number of Romantik Hotels & Restaurants grew by 14 new hotels throughout Europe.
In Austria, three new hotels joined the successful alliance: the Romantik Hotel Spielmann located amidst the impressive mountain backdrop of the Ehrwald County, the nostalgic Romantik Hotel Gasthof Post in Kössen as well as the picturesque Romantik Hotel Neuwirt in Grossarl.
Romantik Hotels & Restaurants are also delighted about a new addition in Switzerland: the beautiful Romantik Hotel Schönegg in Wengen located at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.
Romantik aficionados in France at the French Riviera can now also stay in the charming Romantik Hotel La Chêneraie, a manor with a picturesque setting amidst a park.
Romantik Hotels & Restaurants recorded nine new members this year in Germany:
In the North, decorated chef Jörg Müller was the second establishment on the island of Sylt to join the alliance of Romantik Hotels & Restaurants. An unspoilt view of the Kiel Fjord awaits visitors at the Romantik Hotel Kieler Kaufmann. The Romantik Seehotel Eichenhain in Neustadt-Pelzerhaken offers its guests spa services in the healthy bracing climate directly at the Baltic Sea. In East Frisia, Romantik Hotels & Restaurants are represented by the charming Romantik Hotel Reichshof.
And there are two additional establishments in the West – the Romantik Hotel Deimann in the Sauerland region, and the Romantik Hotel Linslerhof located close to the French border. In southern Germany, the Romantik Hotel Zur Oberen Linde with its idyllic setting in the Black Forest and the Romantik Hotel & Restaurant Hirsch in the Swabian Mountains have joined Romantik this year. The third new addition in the South combines traditional Chinese medicine and Romantik – the Romantik Hotel Am Mühlbach in Bad Füssing.
Managing Director Inge Struckmeier is pleased with the strengthening of the alliance: "I’m delighted about the strong growth of Romantik Hotels & Restaurants in Germany and about the new international additions. They show us that Romantik continues to be synonymous with success in all of Europe." Romantik Hotels & Restaurants are again striving for continuous growth in the 37th year of the alliance.
The 200 Romantik Hotels & Restaurants in 11 European countries are a multifaceted mixture of historically evolved accommodations with hideaway character: Country cottages and hotels in the city, fortresses and castles, hotels in the mountains and on lakes as well as certified wellness hotels. They embody the regions in which they are located, offer a hospitable atmosphere, indulging ambience and represent a stylish way of life.
