Culinary "trifles" out of the Romantik kitchens

Suiting the season we have chosen three recipes for you that you can easily prepare yourself. The recipe for "Home-made apple-pumpkin jam" originates from the Romantik Parkhotel Graz and this jam can be used as spread on the breakfast table as well as it can be an extra on a gourmet cheese plate. The Romantik Hotel Jagdhaus Waldidyll in Hartenstein is responsible for the recipe for "Roast apple with nuts", a sweet delight that is traditionally part of the winter/Christmas season in most parts of Germany.

 

Home-made apple-pumpkin jam

 

Ingredients:

1/2 kg sour apples

1/2 kg pumpkin

1 kg jam sugar

1 piece of ginger

 

Preparation:

Cut apples and pumkin to cubes und let them cook with jam sugar. Grind the ginger and put it in as well. Fill into glases.

 

Roast apple with nuts

 

Ingredients:

Apples - the best are Elstar

1. wash

2. peel at the top

3. take out the inside (not too much)

 

Filling  for 4 roast apples:

80 gr. grounded hazel nuts

20 gr. grinded ginger

50 gr. flour

40 gr. sugar

80 gr. soft butter

3 table spoons of planed almonds

20 gr. walnuts, cut into small pieces

1/2 tea spoon of cinamon

1/2 tea spoon of cloves, grinded

 

Preparation:

Mix the ingredients and knead them into a dough. Put it into the apples. Bake them at 160 °C for 20 minutes in the oven.
